1. Wonder; astonishment. [Obs.]

excited by a person or thing possessed of wonderful or
high excellence; as, admiration of a beautiful woman, of a
landscape, of virtue.
3. Cause of admiration; something to excite wonder, or
pleased surprise; a prodigy.
